SAC Packing List & Dress Code for SAC 2025

Here is our camp packing list, followed by the dress code.

Some Important Notes:

Please label your child’s full name on all items, either with labels or laundry markers.
The weather at camp varies and may be chilly at times. Please pack accordingly.
Our complimentary laundry service will be available to all full-session campers. Laundry will be offered twice throughout the camp session.
Please pack all items in proper luggage (i.e. suitcases, backpacks or duffel bags), marked or tagged with the camper’s first and last name. Use of plastic garbage bags in place of proper luggage is strongly discouraged.
SAC is not responsible for lost belongings.

Packing List

Mandatory Items:

Boys:

3-5 Kippot (SAC kippot are available for purchase at $10 each)
Tefillin – (Bar Mitzvah age and older/should be in a protective case or zip pouch)
Talit (optional depending on your family custom/should be in a protective case or pouch)
Shabbat Clothing (khaki type pants and collared shirts)

Girls:

All Campers:

1-2 Water Bottles (With name marked clearly)
1-2 Hats
Sunscreen
Bug Repellent
Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, deodorant)
Portable plastic shower caddy for toiletries
Flashlight (and extra batteries)
Sleeping Bag (ideally in a protective sack, jumbo Ziploc or plastic bag)
Blanket (Should fit a twin size bunk. Camp can get chilly at night.)
2 Fitted Sheets (twin size)
2 Pillow Cases
1 Pillow (should either fit into luggage or be enclosed in a protective bag or jumbo Ziploc)
3 Large Towels (2 shower/1 pool) – (We will launder these with the SAC Laundry Service)
1-2 Face or Hand Towels
2 – 3 Swim Suits

General Items: Tailor to suit your child’s clothing needs. Laundry for full-session campers is done twice at approximately 8-9 day intervals.

All Campers:

Large Laundry Bag labeled with your campers name on it (if you have a SAC laundry bag from a previous year, bring that one! Laundry bags will be provided for new campers).
10 Pairs of Underwear
10 Pairs of Socks
6 Shorts
4-6 Jeans, Pants, Sweatpants or Casual Skirts
10 T-Shirts
2 Sweatshirts/Sweaters
1 Jacket with Hood (Light to medium weight)
2 – 3 Pairs Pajamas
1 Bathrobe (optional for walking to/from showers)
Shabbat Shoes (Optional – Most kids do not bring special Shabbat shoes as camp ground may be muddy)
1 Pair Walking Shoes (Sneakers are fine)
Backpack to take on field trips and the overnight
Israeli swag, shirts/hat for Israel Day
Hiking Shoes (Optional, but recommended to provide more stability during hikes and long walks)
Water Shoes or Flip Flops
Camera (Inexpensive or disposable types work great)
Books/Magazines (and feel free to bring a pre-loved book or two to donate to our SAC Lending Library)
Water Toys/Squirt Guns
Swim Goggles
Self-addressed stamped envelopes
Letter Writing Accessories (pens, paper, envelope, stamps)
Musical Instruments (optional)

Dress Code

Boys Dress Code:

T-Shirts or long sleeve shirts
Kippah or baseball hat worn at all times
Pants or shorts
For Shabbat, include a nicer shirt and pants (button down or polo and khakis or slacks)
Tank tops are NOT permitted at SAC
Sports Jerseys without sleeves are permitted during sports only

Girls Dress Code:

Short sleeve or long sleeve shirts that cover the shoulder and do not show cleavage
Skirts and shorts approaching the knee
Jeans, sweatpants, shorts that approach the knee
For Shabbat include a skirt or dress that is knee length or longer, covers shoulders, and is not revealing
Tank tops and cap sleeves are NOT permitted
Mini skirts and short shorts are NOT permitted

Dress Code for Boys & Girls:

Any language and images on clothing must be appropriate. Clothing that contains inappropriate language will be held by our staff and returned to the camper on the last day of camp.
