SAC 2018: The Fun Begins

Keridos Madres Y Padres!

Yesterday’s Ladino phrase of the day was “Todo Bueno” which, fittingly, means “Everything’s Good!” We have had an amazing first two days of camp so far. Haham had a record number of kids attending Tuesday’s Cocoa en la Boca, our pre-Shacharit hot chocolate and learning event. During the day so much happened! For starters, it was our wonderful director Kenny Pollack’s birthday! An old past tradition came back alive when we raised the Israeli and American flag in the morning, and sang the star spangled banner and the Israeli anthem. The young campers’ voices blended together beautifully, and it was an amazing and patriotic moment. Every single bunk got to go to the pool and the B1, G1, and G3 bunks got to go horseback riding!  There was also archery, basketball, a challenge course, and chugim including Arts, Science, and Kite Flying. Finally, last night’s event was another SAC tradition, Cake War. The kids and staff had so much fun letting loose and getting messy, it was so great to see everybody laughing and enjoying themselves. Ultimately, the B4 boys won the war. Their prize was that they will get to decorate the coveted Sephardic Adventure Camp Toilet Seat! Afterwards, they all hit the showers, the older bunks went to Arvit, and then they went to bed. We are so excited for another amazing day at SAC. I am going to bed now. Goodnight Parents!!
