More Color War!

When color war was announced the kids were so relieved. Campers and counselors were split into two teams: Blue “Chagim” and Black “Shabbat”. Following breakfast the teams had their first competition in Chidon Hatanach, a test on their Torah knowledge. Right after this teams had their first meetings to prepare their cheers, songs and banner. The day continued with field sports and swimming. For dinner, everybody ate, an extremely messy spaghetti meal, with everything but their hands. The night activity was an intense game of capture the flag.

The first activity of the second day was all camp soccer, camper vs. camper and staff vs. staff. After soccer everybody headed to “dancing lunch”. From the time lunch started till it ended, everybody was required to dance their pants off. Lunch ended with a blue vs. black dance off. The next activity on the agenda was the Apache relay. Campers needed to complete tasks while runners were chosen from each team to perform the relay. It was a close call, but black finished first with Eva Goodman’s rapid gorging of a watermelon.

Teams were given two more opportunities to put the finishing touches on their presentations. At 7:45 everybody met in the Mess Hall for their performances.

Black Team song to “Let My Love Open the Door”

When Leon said SAC was over

everybody started to cry

but then we all became closer

and wiped the tears from our eyes

Then Samis opened the door

and they announced color war

Shamor Vezachor, Be’dibur Echad.

(shamor vezachor, Oooooh)

The blue team keeps on thinking

that they’re gonna win this war

well they can keep on dreaming

just take a look at the score

Blacks gonna win this war

blues gonna hit the floor

shabbat Ledorotam, Brit Olam

(blacks gonna win this war, shabbat shalom) x4

The only key to shabbat

is break away from what we’ve got

Lecha Dodi Likrat Kallah

Penne Shabbat Nekabelah!

Good Shabboss (what?)

Blacks gonna win this war.

Weinz is gonna beg for more

Blue Team song to “We are the World”

Here comes a rhyme

From a special kahal

Where Sphards come together as one

There were campers crying

We were almost ashkenaz

Almost, the greatest fall of all

Camp can’t go on

Pretending day by day

That SAMIS somehow will soon make a change

We didn’t back down

Stood up for S-A-C

And with Torah, you know Chagim are we need

Chorus:

Vi-sa-mach-ta

Bi-cha-ge-cha

The holidays make a brighter day

Let’s start rejoicing

There was matzah baking

Hashem saved all our lives

Chag SAC-me-ach

Half you and me

Bluuuuuueeeeee….

Mish-lo-ach Ma-not

Just like the queen Esther

And her cries for help

Were not in vain

So we must remember

And celebrate today

Eat meat

And drink our hearts away

Chorus:

Vi-sa-mach-ta

Bi-cha-ge-cha

The holidays make a brighter day

Let’s start rejoicing

There was matzah baking

Hashem saved all our lives

Chag SAC-me-ach

Won’t you join me

After day one

There was no hope at all

But we have su-kot

And there’s no way we can fall

Blue, Blue, Blue

Let us realize

Black Sabbath will never come

When blue stands together as one

RAP

(One, Two, Three)

Chorus (X2): GO CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vi-sa-mach-ta

Bi-cha-ge-cha

The holidays make a brighter day

Let’s start rejoicing

There was matzah baking

Hashem saved all our lives

Chag SAC-me-ach

Won’t you join m

After careful deliberation and an awfully tense Arvit, the judges announced Black Team as the winners.
