SAC Day 7

Queridos Madres y Padres,

We had an incredible Tisha B’av, where CITs shared personal family stories from the Holocaust, of brave and loss. At the end of the day, campers headed to the beach for singing on the Pacific Ocean and then enjoyed a delicious break-fast. We will circle back to pre-Tisha B’av, where we left off.

On Monday morning, the older bunks returned from their overnight, while the CITs ran camp for the young bunks. Monday was Tie Dye Day in Arts and Crafts, and campers were led by Shanei Sibony to make cool spiral tie dyed shirts, bragas and socks. During SAC Workshop that day, the boys and girls learned about how to sing the Tisha B’av tunes and went through some of the laws we observe that day.

We are off to Color War today, (shhh!! Don’t tell the campers!) and can’t wait for the fun and spirit that’s involved. Kids are hydrating from the fast, and prepping for the warm(er) weather here – 80 degrees!
